Study: Potentials and business models for renewable energy systems without feed-in tariff

What happens to the renewable energy systems that have been connected to the grid for the feed-in remuneration (2000-2007) from 2020, when these plants, which make a significant contribution to the renewable energy electricity supply in the grid, drop out of the legally guaranteed subsidy? What impact will this have on our electricity price and market? What are the consequences for the distribution and transmission network operators? What are the lucrative opportunities for plant operators instead?

To provide answers to these questions and to develop new applications, business models and product approaches, research campus Flexible Electrical Networks FEN, Institute of Power Systems and Power Economics at RWTH Aachen University and enersis europe, are looking for consortium partners for the study "Potentials and business models for renewable energy systems without feed-in tariff". The study is aimed to the individual questions and requirements of the consortium partners.

The following questions will be answered:

  • What is the potential for transition to flexibility? Local production and local consumption? Efficient and cost-effective storage options?
  • How can plant operators convert their plants, for example, to use as much of the self-generated energy as possible in the own building (own consumption)?
  • Which options are available so that the EE systems can be used as an energy supplier for third parties? For example fast-charging stations for electric vehicles?
  • What specific service products are available for distribution and transmission network operators, which costs arise and which regional success parameters are available?
  • How is the market potential developed during the expiry of the feed-in tariff?

The study starts in November and has a duration of about 6 months.

Join the consortium and benefit from the exclusive project results.
